One of those treats was a bag of Hazelnuts.
Peter and I love Hazelnuts. Any thing made with Hazelnuts or just
straight from the bag.
This weekend I made Hazelnut Waffles. They were absolutely awesome.
Slightly sweet and nutty.
I put the leftovers in the fridge and toasted some up this morning
while The chicken was chilling in her Boppy talking to the things dangling
in front of her.

HAZELNUT WAFFLES
Makes about 16 small waffles
You will need:
1 3/4 c soy milk
1/4 c water
2 tsp apple cider vinegar
3 Tablespoons canola oil
3 Tablespoons maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/4 c all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 allspice
1 cup hazelnuts, chopped finely
Nonstick cooking spray
Waffle iron
Preheat waffle iron
Combine soy, water and vinegar set aside for at least 5 mins
In a large bowl combine maple syrup and vanilla extract and canola oil
Add the soy milk mixture, whisk together
Add the flour, baking soda, powder, salt and allspice.
Mix well with a fork, but do not over mix.
Fold in the hazelnuts
Spray waffle iron with non stick
Cook waffles according to maker's direction.
Serve with fresh fruit, powdered sugar and more maple syrup.
