Banana Bread and Tyson Beckford, mmmmmmmmmm!

The other day I made my friend Caren's vegan banana bread recipe from
fennelfiles
It was so good I ate the whole thing all by myself! Peter had one slice I think and I ate the rest.
Not all in one sitting of course.
You should check out her blog and try some of her recipes.
In fact, there's one slice left and I think I'm going to eat it right now!
Here's the banana bread recipe.
Banana Bread (makes one loaf)

You will need
3 cups of bananas, mashed but leaving some chunks
1/3 cup canola oil
1/2 cup maple syrup
2 cups unbleached white flour
1/2 tsp of salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp ground allspice
pinch of cardamom
*I added 1 tsp of vanilla bean paste (you can add extract if you like)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Oil a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
Whisk bananas, oil and maple syrup until just combined
Pour into a large bowl and set aside.
In a smaller bowl, sift together the dry ingredients.
Add the dry mixture to the wet mixture and mix until well blended.
Pour batter into the loaf pan and bake for 45-50 minutes.
The top of the bread should be a golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center of the bread should come out clean.
Let cool for 20 minutes on a wire rack before attempting to extract the bread from the pan.
A hasty removal can cause the bread to fall apart.

Here's another treat for you.
On Saturday, I went with Jana and Matt to the Indian Larry Legacy Block Party in Brooklyn.
There were a lot of motorcycles. Surprisingly, there were also a lot of kids. Babies seem to be the new black this year. I swear everyone had one.
Tyson Beckford was there, he's real cute. He hung out at our tent (Bling's Cycles) for a long time because he's friends with Bill.
This is Bill and Tyson:

Jana took this photo for me because I was too shy to ask for one.
Everyone kept taking Tyson's picture, I felt bad for him but he was smiling the whole time and looked like he was having a good time so maybe he didn't mind.
While waiting in in the year long line to use the bathroom Jana showed me the Brad Pitt bike by Paul Cox.
It was real neat, so were the other bikes Paul made but I didn't really take pictures of them.

The bike has every one's initials, Angelina, Maddox, Zahara and Shiloh.
It was a fun day. I was so happy that it wasn't hot out.
In fact the last couple of days have been nice and cool that makes me very happy.
